Dovetail Z-Stages D6-Screw
The dovetail which uses the sliding of metal plates for its contact method is made up of a trapezoid dovetail and dovetail surface slider, and the deviation is adjusted by a set screw on the sides. The dovetail slider is the most basic and simple type and some of its strengths are that it has a high load capacity, high hardness, it is vibration resistance, long deviation, and is low cost; goniometer stages are part of this type.
However, the drawback is that precision is low due to friction. It uses a rack & pinion for its drive, and it is perfect for simple positioning or quick movement. After it is mounted, turning the handle while holding the top plate may cause deviation or damages.
